MISSION
You Can Do Astronomy LLC is an accessibility design and consulting company
with a focus on making astronomy and space science accessible to people
through universal design.
DID YOU KNOW
According to the U.S. Census, one out of every five Americans has a
disability. For example, it is estimated that 10 million people in North
America are visually impaired, yet many museums continue to offer little
or no accommodations for non-visual access. Science centers that make
their facilities and events more welcoming through universal instructional design will
attract a broader audience.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU
Our service offers a combination of design and consulting for a variety of
clients. These include educational organizations who want to revise their
facilities and programming to be more welcoming and accessible, as well as
publishers and product developers who are interested in creating materials
and programs which truly reach a universal audience.
We can make planetarium theaters, science centers and educational programs
more accessible to visitors with disabilities through creative solutions,
including tactile illustrations, assistive technology and thoughtful
spaces for people who need mobility access. We are resourceful in solving
your most difficult accessibility problems so you can inspire a new
generation of science enthusiasts.
